OVERVIEW

Introduction to the Piston Pump

A piston pump is a positive-displacement pump that uses pistons moving inside cylinders to draw in hydraulic fluid and discharge it under pressure. Depending on the design, the pistons may be arranged axially or radially, while fixed- and variable-displacement options allow the pump to meet different flow and control requirements.

Known for high pressure capability, accurate flow delivery, and strong volumetric efficiency, piston pumps are widely used in mobile and industrial hydraulic systems. A suitable piston pump can provide reliable fluid power for equipment that operates under heavy loads, changing duty cycles, or demanding working conditions.

Products Functions

Functions of Piston Pumps

Hydraulic Parts for All Construction Machinery

Generate High-Pressure Hydraulic Flow

Generate High-Pressure Hydraulic Flow

A piston pump supplies pressurized hydraulic fluid to cylinders, motors, valves, and other system components, enabling equipment to produce the force required for demanding operations.

Convert Mechanical Energy into Hydraulic Power

Convert Mechanical Energy into Hydraulic Power

Driven by an engine or electric motor, the pump converts shaft input into hydraulic pressure and flow so that energy can be transmitted through the hydraulic circuit.

Provide Precise Flow and Displacement Control

Provide Precise Flow and Displacement Control

Variable-displacement piston pumps can adjust output to match operating demand, helping improve actuator control, system responsiveness, and energy efficiency.

Maintain Stable Performance Under Heavy Loads

Maintain Stable Performance Under Heavy Loads

The close-fitting piston-and-cylinder design supports consistent pressure and flow in systems exposed to high loads, frequent cycling, and long operating hours.

Support Complex Hydraulic Circuits

Support Complex Hydraulic Circuits

Piston pumps can serve as the main power source in open- or closed-circuit systems and support multiple hydraulic functions that require reliable, controllable fluid power.

Uses

What is the difference between a centrifugal pump and a piston pump?

A centrifugal pump uses a rotating impeller to transfer fluid through centrifugal action and is commonly selected for high-flow, low-to-medium-pressure service. A piston pump is a positive-displacement pump that uses piston movement to deliver precise flow and is generally better suited to high-pressure hydraulic applications.

What are the main types of piston pumps?

The main types are axial piston pumps and radial piston pumps. Axial designs are widely used because they can combine high efficiency with variable displacement, while radial designs are often selected for very high pressure and robust operation.

When should I choose a variable-displacement piston pump?

Choose a variable-displacement piston pump when the hydraulic system needs adjustable flow, pressure compensation, load-sensitive control, or lower energy consumption across changing operating conditions.

How can I extend the service life of a piston pump?

Use clean hydraulic fluid of the specified viscosity, maintain proper filtration and oil temperature, prevent cavitation, confirm correct shaft alignment, and inspect pressure, noise, leakage, and contamination regularly.

Can you customize products, and is there a minimum order quantity?

Absolutely. We provide OEM/ODM services and can manufacture according to your samples or technical drawings. Yes, there is a minimum order quantity, but it is flexible. Spare parts often have an MOQ of 1 piece, while complete pumps or motors vary by model—please inquire for details.

How quickly can you deliver products, and what shipping methods are available?

For in-stock items, we can ship within 3 days. For custom or non-stock items, delivery usually takes 7–15 days. We’ll confirm exact timing based on current inventory. We offer flexible shipping via express carriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS) and sea freight (CIF/FOB). We can also deliver to your designated freight forwarder in China.

Are you a factory or a trading company, and how do you ensure product quality?

We are a hybrid—both a manufacturer and a trading company. We produce our own products and also source specific components to offer complete solutions. We follow strict quality control protocols. All parts undergo CNC machining and heat treatment, and each is 100% tested before delivery to guarantee precision and reliability.

What payment methods do you accept, and what is the warranty period?

We accept T/T, L/C, Western Union, Alibaba Trade Assurance, and VISA. For new customers, we usually require full prepayment or a 30% deposit with the balance due before shipment. All products come with a 1-year warranty, provided they are installed and operated under normal conditions.
