OVERVIEW

Introduction to the Orbit Motor

An orbit motor is a low-speed, high-torque hydraulic motor based on gerotor or geroler working principles. Pressurized oil drives an inner rotor as it orbits within an outer stator, creating expanding and contracting chambers that convert hydraulic energy into continuous output-shaft rotation.

Orbit motors are valued for compact size, high starting torque, smooth low-speed performance, and economical direct-drive capability. They are widely used in mobile, agricultural, marine, mining, and industrial machinery where high torque is required without a large reduction gearbox.

Functions of the Orbit Motor

Hydraulic Parts for All Construction Machinery

Convert Hydraulic Energy into High Output Torque

Convert Hydraulic Energy into High Output Torque

Pressurized fluid enters the orbit motor and acts on the displacement chambers formed between the rotor and stator. The resulting orbital movement is transferred through the drive mechanism to the output shaft, producing strong rotary torque from a compact hydraulic unit.

 Provide Low-Speed, High-Torque Direct Drive

Provide Low-Speed, High-Torque Direct Drive

The relatively large displacement per revolution allows an orbit motor to generate useful torque at low rotational speed. This enables direct connection to wheels, augers, conveyors, reels, and other mechanisms, reducing the need for bulky mechanical reduction equipment.

Deliver Reliable Starting Performance Under Load

Deliver Reliable Starting Performance Under Load

Orbit motors can develop strong starting torque, helping machinery begin movement when the driven component is already loaded. This characteristic is especially useful for conveyors, mixers, feeders, and vehicle drives that frequently start, stop, or reverse during operation.

 Support Reversible and Controllable Rotation

Support Reversible and Controllable Rotation

Changing the direction of hydraulic flow allows many orbit motors to rotate clockwise or counterclockwise. System valves can regulate flow and pressure to control speed, torque, acceleration, deceleration, and safe stopping across different machine operating cycles.

Maintain Stable Operation in Compact Mobile Systems

Maintain Stable Operation in Compact Mobile Systems

The simple rotor-stator arrangement provides a high power-to-size ratio and fits easily into space-limited machinery. With correct filtration, case pressure, shaft loading, and oil viscosity, an orbit motor can deliver dependable performance in demanding mobile and industrial environments.

Uses

SUPPORT

Help Center

How does an orbit motor work?

An orbit motor uses pressurized oil to make an inner rotor orbit inside an outer stator. The changing chamber volumes create rotational force, and a drive link transfers the orbital motion to the output shaft as continuous low-speed, high-torque rotation.

What is the difference between a gerotor and a geroler orbit motor?

A gerotor motor uses direct contact between the inner rotor and outer stator, while a geroler design places rollers in the outer gear profile. Geroler construction can reduce friction and improve starting efficiency, durability, and performance under heavier loads.

Why choose an orbit motor instead of a gear motor?

Choose an orbit motor when the application needs higher torque at lower speed, strong starting performance, and direct drive from a compact package. A gear motor may be preferable for simpler, higher-speed auxiliary duties with lower displacement requirements.

How do I select the correct orbit motor?

Match displacement, continuous and peak pressure, required torque, target speed, available flow, starting efficiency, duty cycle, shaft and bearing loads, mounting, porting, direction, case-drain needs, allowable back pressure, fluid viscosity, and contamination level.

Can you customize products, and is there a minimum order quantity?

Absolutely. We provide OEM/ODM services and can manufacture according to your samples or technical drawings. Yes, there is a minimum order quantity, but it is flexible. Spare parts often have an MOQ of 1 piece, while complete pumps or motors vary by model—please inquire for details.

How quickly can you deliver products, and what shipping methods are available?

For in-stock items, we can ship within 3 days. For custom or non-stock items, delivery usually takes 7–15 days. We’ll confirm exact timing based on current inventory. We offer flexible shipping via express carriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS) and sea freight (CIF/FOB). We can also deliver to your designated freight forwarder in China.

Are you a factory or a trading company, and how do you ensure product quality?

We are a hybrid—both a manufacturer and a trading company. We produce our own products and also source specific components to offer complete solutions. We follow strict quality control protocols. All parts undergo CNC machining and heat treatment, and each is 100% tested before delivery to guarantee precision and reliability.

What payment methods do you accept, and what is the warranty period?

We accept T/T, L/C, Western Union, Alibaba Trade Assurance, and VISA. For new customers, we usually require full prepayment or a 30% deposit with the balance due before shipment. All products come with a 1-year warranty, provided they are installed and operated under normal conditions.
